Raquel Fidalgo will represent Portugal in Eurovision Young Dancers 2017. We met her after she finished her rehearsals for the day.

Raquel Fidalgo was born on the 4th December 1999. She is now seventeen years old and lives in Lisbon. She started dancing at the age of five and entered the National Ballet School of Portugal (EDCN) in 2010, when she was only nine years old. What would Raquel do if she wasn't a dancer? "I think I would be a fashion designer, definitely something creative, that sort of thing really inspires me," she said.
While Raquel was in school, she performed in many shows, participated in several competitions and in 2016 she completed an internship at the National Ballet Company of Portugal. What does Eurovision Young Dancers mean to Raquel? "This competition for me is to show the culture of my country, and show how Portuguese people move through dance."
Portugal won the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, does that put any pressure on Raquel? "A little bit," she said, laughing. "It was so wonderful when Saldvador Sobral won, of course to win this competition would be very special but I just want to do the best I can and to represent my country to the best of my ability."
