2013 Venue Finalised

Posted 12 October 2012 at 12:03

Founded in February 1949 by Iwo Gall as a Music and Drama Studio, the Baltic Opera and Dance Theatre has played host to some of the best international cultural projects in the world and has played host to some of the most well-known performers from the fields of opera and dance. The Baltic Dance Theatre started its existence in its current form on 1 March 2010, but already two years previously talented young dancers had started arriving in Gdańsk from all over Poland to strengthen the small, yet dynamically developing Baltic Opera ballet team.

“The choice of venue by TVP continues the trend of excellent facilities that have played host to Eurovision Young Dancers” said Vladislav Yakovlev, Executive Supervisor of Eurovision Young Dancers. A delegation from the European Broadcasting Union, including Arild Erikstad (head of Steering Group) and Robert Kamyk (2013 Executive Producer) will visit Gdańsk shortly to begin making plans for the competition next June.
