10 Countries ready to dance in Pilsen

Posted 7 April 2015 at 10:43

Broadcasters from 10 European countries will take part in this year's Eurovision Young Dancers competition, that will come live from the Czech city of Pilsen on 19 June 2015.

The total is the same number as took part in the last event two years ago, although this year's competition sees two debuting nations.

The competing countries are:

  • Albania (RTSH)
  • Czech Republic (ČT) - host broadcaster
  • Germany (WDR)
  • Malta (PBS)
  • Norway (NRK)
  • Poland (TVP)
  • Slovakia (STV)
  • Slovenia (RTVSLO)
  • Sweden (SVT)
  • The Netherlands (NTR)

Albania and Malta make their debuts in Eurovision Young Dancers this year, while Slovakia returns to the competition for the first time since their debut in 1997. Armenia and Belarus, who took part in 2013, were unable to enter the competition this year although they will be warmly welcomed back in 2015 if they are able to do so.

"It's very pleasing to see 10 countries again as part of our event," says Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev. "We know that many broadcasters, and especially cultural departments, are having a hard time at the moment so to have ten with us in Pilsen supporting Young Dancers is very positive. Česká televize is preparing an excellent show, and I am sure everyone watching will enjoy it immensely."

Eurovision Young Dancers takes place on Friday 19 June at 20:00 CET, live from Pilsen's New Theatre.
